I woke up this morning with a new idea that should have been an old one. I felt God telling me that I needed to take my devotional time with Him and include my son. "Hmmm, I thought. I have been so focused on improving my relationship with God it never occurred to me that I could do the same with my son at the same time." It was such a simple step that I believe will have tremendous results in the life of my son and both his relationship with God and me.
Is there a time in your day that you could sacrifice for your children to help them grow up with a love for God beyond what you have seen?
My prayer this morning was that my children will have a relationship with God that I have never had. I want them to do miraculous things in the name of our Lord that I have either failed or been too weak to complete. Although I am growing stronger, my children can be stronger than I ever will if they are equipped with the right tools from the beginning. We don't expect a plumber to fix a water leak with his bare hands, or a doctor to use chopsticks for surgery. You wouldn't mow your entire lawn with a pair of scissors or mop your whole house with a toothbrush. We all like to use and expect others to use the proper tools for the job. Our children have a task before them for the rest of their lives and they need proper tools to do the job. Dads, your responsibility is to equip them with what they need to perform their job requirements. I lift up all fathers today in the name of our savior and pray that you will have a passion for equipping your children with the necessary tools to honor God with their lives.
